ADP / BaTh @ FZD: Multi-Sensor Calibration for Automated Driving

Automated vehicles utilize many different sensors to overcome limitations of a single sensor in terms of its field of view or its physical principle. This results in the need to calibrate those sensors to each other and globally in order to determine whether a detected signal in two sensors belongs to the same real object or are in fact two different objects. As different kind of sensors rely on different physical measurements, a way to detect a significant calibration signal in different sensors is needed. As an example, a QR Code might be well detected by cameras but not visible in radar sensors.
