Lazy substitution == Deferred Substitution?

Beitrag von oggy »

Hi, I am a little bit confused about the term "lazy substitution". Am I right to assume that this is the same as deferred substitution that was mentioned in the lecture (maybe without the dynamic binding part)?

Nevermind, I found the slides where lazy substitution is explained (this-course-and-scheme-in-a-nutshell.pdf, p. 41).

I should read more thoroughly.

Yes, lazy/eager substitution are completely orthogonal to using deferred substitution or not. (But the latter may not be well-named.)
