Keysigning: how to see the results?

Beitrag von Osterlaus »

Hi there,
just out of curiosity: how can I see if everything went fine for the signing? If the three initial members signed my key: that's easy. But how can I simply check this for transitive signings? And I'd love to see a clarification for the second part: after having reached complete trust through signings from at least three people with complete trust, do I receive one more bonus point for each signing I do on another key or for each bidirectional signing? And is this to be done in the group of participants, or could this second part be done through keysigning with external people?

I don't know for sure, but I suppose that

Code: Alles auswählen

$ gpg2 --list-keys --list-options show-uid-validity |grep pki@cdc
uid [ unknown] PKI (no password) <pki@cdc.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de>
should do the trick (according to the gpg manual).
show-uid-validity should display the calculated validity of user IDs during key listings.

Code: Alles auswählen

$ gpg2 --update-trustdb
gpg: 3 marginal(s) needed, 1 complete(s) needed, PGP trust model
will show you if you calculate the validity on behalf of the same trust model as the lecture (default should be yes).

I think that if you can fully trust pki@cdc..'s certificate without having manually set the owner trust, this should work vice versa.
