e9; Layout of Nested Graph

Beitrag von 0b101101101 » 22. Jan 2018 16:15

I can't make any sense of building a composite graph (a graph of graphs of nodes) and calling draw on it. The problem is that there can only ever be one layout, so there is no difference between layouting a set of nodes and a graph of graph of nodes, because the nodes will still be aligned in a circle.

Hi,

there is a difference between layouting a set of nodes and a graph of graph elements. Assuming you have a graph consisting of 4 nodes and one graph, which itself consists of 6 nodes. The result of the layouting process (using the circle layouter) will be a circle consisting of 5 graph elements, where one of these elements is again a circle consisting of the 6 nodes. You're not just creating a big circle consisting of all nodes.

Best,
Matthias
