### A1 P1.2

Hello,

I don't fully understand question 1.2. The question says that we should marginalize p(v,w,x,y,z) over five variables. There are only five variables in the joint distribution, so the result would be 1 in my opinion if we marginalize over all 5 variables. This can't be what is meant by the task, also because it says that we should marginalize the joint distribution "with respect to variables w and z". Does "marginalization with respect to w and z" mean the same as "marginalization over w and z"?

The joint distribution is given as p(v, w, x, y, z). It has 5 variables. Now you should marginalize p(v, w, x, y, z) with respect to w and z. After that you should marginalize over x.

You should interpret the first part of the first sentence as: "You are given a distribution p(v, w, x, y, z) over 5 variables.". I hope this clarifies the question.
