Problem1: the problem?

Beitrag von Pavel »

could you give some more hints what you want us to do? If the task is only to express p(y) with p(y|x) and p(x), then writing down the marginalisation rule should be enugh. But then I dont use y=x+z and p(z) at all... (this is the most fitting solution I could come up with so far..)

p(y|x) somehow needs to relate to the distribution of z, since y = x+z...

Note that the x and y in the explanatory formulas leading up to the task are not necessarily the same as the x and y of the task itself.
