Tutor Positions for Operating Systems 2 Course

Beitrag von schwahn »

we are looking for tutors to assist us with exercise and lab supervision for the OS2 course (Operating Systems II: Dependability and Trust) in the upcoming summer semester. Applicants should have very solid knowledge of the topics taught in our course. Lab tutors should have good knowledge of the C programming language and be used to Linux. Applicants should be fluent in English since the course will be taught in English. However, knowledge of German is clearly beneficial.

We are offering 2 positions for exercise supervision with 40h/month and for four months (April through July). The tutors are expected to prepare (~3h/week) and supervise the weekly exercise session (1.5h/week). An office hour of at most 1.5h should be offered. Furthermore, we need to adjust the exercise format for better scalability and the tutors are expected to help us with that (~4h/week).

Depending on the actual number of students registering for the course, we also offer at least 2 positions for the supervision and testing of three to four lab tasks with 20h/month for four months (April through July). The tutors are expected to answer student questions regarding the labs (~4h/lab), perform the actual testing (~7h/lab), and prepare the lab tasks (~9h/lab).

Please note that contract details are negotiable.

If you're interested send us an e-mail to teaching@deeds.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de with the following info:
  • Name
  • Matriculation number
  • Semester when you've taken the OS2 course in Darmstadt
  • The tutor position that you apply for (exercise or lab)
  • Date & university if you have taken a software dependability/fault tolerance course somewhere else
  • Other relevant information that may underpin your competences
We're looking forward to hearing from you!
