Re: Exercise #4: Integration/Synergy/Assistance in IDEs

The classpath is built together there: ":" under Linux or ";" under Windows is the seperator for two paths, and "." is like a magic variable for the directory which contains your program
Thanks for the correct and clear explanation.

Re: Exercise #3: Fractal

Hi all,

I could not answer to all points because of the network state here. According to what I read, you made a good job in analyzing the problems and finding solutions.

Today, Dr. Michael Eichberg will give you another interesting perspective on software architecture.

Re: Exercise #3: Fractal

Dear all, Here are some hints: * Fractal files are not generated, you write them by hand. * You don't need the Fractal plugin to solve the exercise, all required libraries are included in SVN. However, you may create the fractal files with the graphical editor of the plugin. * There is no unique sol...

Update Exercice #2

Hi all,

Question 4, there was a mistake in the exercice. It is not:
sig State {
allocation: Philosopher -> some Fork
}
but:
sig State {
allocation: Philosopher -> Fork
}

Re: Exercise #2

Hi Jan, You are right. sig State { allocation: Philosopher -> some Fork } means that all Philosopher must have at least one fork (i.e. dom[allocation]=Philosopher (set of all instances of Philosopher)) This change has no direct impact on the exercice, only for the optional question #8. The exercise ...

Re: Exercise #2

Again, about the semantics of "some", this example can help to understand: open util/relation sig Philosopher {} sig Fork {} one sig State { allocation: Philosopher -> some Fork, } // it is impossible to find an instance because of the "some" // if you remove it, then it's you have instances run { /...

Re: Exercise #2

Hi Jan, Two elements of answer: * "allocation: Philosopher -> some Fork" means "there is some (at least one) fork allocated" This simply disallows the case of having no allocated fork at all. * however, I guess that you can do the exercise without problems if you remove the "some".
