Re: RCFAE Interpreter

Thanks for explaining, it is clear now.

I missed this -
So we evaluate `namedExpr` in the `recEnv` and require that the `boundId` is not immediately used (which would result in infinite recursion anyways), but only used guarded inside a closure.

RCFAE Interpreter

case Rec(boundId, namedExpr, boundBody) => { val recEnv = collection.mutable.Map() ++ env recEnv += boundId -> interp(namedExpr, recEnv) interp(boundBody, recEnv) } what is the use of adding an empty map to env which is already a Map ? I think, I understood the idea behind the implementation, but I...

Re: Slide V08_page 33_Continuations example

"done" being the last statement after the computation, so result evaluated till then (i.e. 10) is thrown away and just a string is returned.

New instance for Weblab Assignments

Hi,

I wanted to know if there are any updates regarding providing us we new instance for weblab assignments for practice.
If I remember correctly, in the last lecture it was mentioned that such a solution is possible and may be be provided.

-Thanks

Re: Assignment 9: BindCC Usage

Hi Ragnar, So, even according to your explanation it seems my assumption is right that in case of test10 current continuation will be v => And(true, v) But since we are following left to right evaluation of arguments, in the operation - Or(true, rhs), rhs expression should not be evaluated at all.. ...

Re: Assignment 9: BindCC Usage

I also have similar problem with understanding BindCC. What I thought was that param - 'k will be bound to the continuation so far till BindCC in interpreted which will be And(true, _) But with this assumption, test10 should evaluate to : Or(true, App('k, false)) Or(true, And(true, false)) Or(true, ...

Re: Using List functions in Zip Task

One thing should be really obvious and common sense, even without us putting a ten-page list of "disclaimers" in every task description: If we ask you to implement any function with a functionality X, and there is some Scala function in the Scala standard library that implements X already, then thi...

Re: Using List functions in Zip Task

Yes, I understood that we have to use zipop function as base to implement others.
I was just asking about in addition to that.

And one more doubt please, can we use zip or zipadd that we implemented along with zipop ?

Is it fine to use inbuilt functions available to Scala List to solve this task ?
