Re: Types in If0 Branches

What type would the if expression have, if you would allow the different types in the branches?
var x = (if 1>3 then "hello" else 42)

Re: Assignment 11 Task 1.4

I don't think 14 should be part of the list. See, 14 = 7*2, so there is a 7. And 7 is neither 2, 3 or 5.
It seems you want to generate products who have at least one factor 2, 3, 5, but actually the task says to produce products whose factors are _only_ 2, 3, 5. I hope that clears it up :)

Re: Homework 11

Hi! I think that would be the case if the code was run with strict evaluation (like Java, Scala, JS, C, etc.). Haskell uses lazy evaluation, so the individual elements of the infinite stream are not actually computed until needed. So just make sure you never use them? ( Also, I have a working soluti...

Re: Exercise-01 Solution

Here is another way to look at the problem: A List is either Nil or Cons(x, xs): class List[A] case class Nil[A] extends List[A] case class Cons[A](x: A, xs: List[A]) extends List[A] Note, in scala Cons was called :: . So its actually something like: class List[A] case class Nil[A] extends List[A] c...

Wrong password? Use your RGB password not the TU/HRZ/SSO password. Re: StackOverflowError in RCFLAEInterp

Hey, it would be easier if the posts would mention the assignment and task? But from what you just wrote, as I understand you so far, you got an StackOverflowError, meaning you probably have an endless recursive call. According to the stack trace its happening during some toString methods. If we loo...

Re: Assignment 1, Task 1, 'non-trivial'

Wait, sorry. That was not an answer. :)

So the difference is, that a List(1, 2, 3, 4, 5) actually looks like (1, (2, (3, (4, (5, ()))))), so it is just one step to get the head and one step to get tail, but many steps to get last and many steps to get init (all-but-last).

Re: Assignment 1, Task 1, 'non-trivial'

Hey, I think head/tail should be mostly equivalent to head :: tail (although not always as nice).
For example init/last or ++ are probably more than trivial.

Re: ex11: return value of replace arbitrary

That leaves two possible values: true and false. Also i just noticed, that the task didn't say, that the value should be replaced everywhere, as the second task seems to imply that you should just do it once.

ex11: return value of replace arbitrary

The return value of the replace method is not specified.

"You may omit the corresponding annotations" means its optional to annotate it, and we do not loose points, if we do annotate it?

Only for the first values. The rate and dependency may be in any order and (probably do not need to exist).

I use PT8H for 8 hours.
