Re: Post-exam review

Hi, thanks a lot for that unbuerocratic solution. Maybe it is a bit perky, but is there a possibility to get an earlier timeslot on monday ? The reason is I have to write an exam on monday which ends at 13:00 and with an earlier slot I would not have to hang around for 3 hours in Darmstadt. Greeting...

Re: PNGCanvas

Hi thanks for replying, I decided to use the given signature of PNGCanvas, as it is only one line of code duplication for the close() method. But reduction in decision logic during runtime, as DocumentBuilders image method has to distinguish between local and remote images, to do the job, which is n...

Re: Ex10: HTML Document without h1?

Thanks for the hint, but in this special case the isEmpty trick doesn't match, as elements are appended to the string sequence via the result() method of the simpleBuilder and therefor only if a new headline arrives or the html construction is cloased via PaginatedBuilders result method. Greetings D...

PNGCanvas

Hi everyone, I have a short design question on the PNGCanvas class. Wouldn't it be more sophisticated to use a DocumentBuilder instance instead of a HTMLBuilder instance to create and add the actual LocalImage to the html document. At the moment with the given signature of PNGCanvas, we have to reim...

small bug in HTMLBuilders.scala

Hi, just for clarification, should the given addElement method not only add one single newline character (/n) ? Otherwise I see some problems to get the same Sourcecode indentation as the given example html files. Given one: def addElement(tag: String, attributes: String, content: String) { addTag(t...

Re: Ex10: HTML Document without h1?

Hello Ingo, I think I had the same problem as the guys above. "A plain HTML document" means a HTML document without body content. This can occure if the PaginateDocumentBuilder is used for the first time, because the local variable which is holding the SimpleDocumentBuilder has to be initialized. Th...

Re: Ex09: Decorator vs. Visitor

Hi, so just to get it right, I'm not totally wrong when storing the subtotals within the decorating objects and not within the decorated object ? For example The subtotal for price ans calories for a family sized pizza salami is stored within the FamilySize class and not within the SalamiPizza class...

Re: Ex09: Decorator vs. Visitor

Hi, thanks a lot for the last reply Ingo, that helped me quite a bit. But now I have to reask about the price and caloris calculation. Assuming the accumulated prices and calories are stored within the decorators as mentioned above, I have quite a problem with the printing of the prices. For example...

Re: Ex09: Decorator vs. Visitor

Hi,

just to get your reply right Ingo. The idea of this exercise is not to use a "static decorator" like the one described in slideset 5.3 slide 24, right ?

Re: Ex09 Curious: Hawaiian Pizza less calories than Margheri

Hi everyone,

does that fact not imply that we cannot "decorate" Pizza Magarita with ham an pineapple to achieve a Hawaiian pizza ?
Thus resulting we have to implement own decorator traits/classes/objects for Hawaiian and Salami Pizza.

Question on snapshot and toggle methods in dependecy graphs

Hi, as I used snapshot and toggle methods of events within my implementation of stopwatch, the question arises how to model them within the dependency graphs. For my opinion the parameters should be modeled with dynamic dependency and the event "fireing" the methods should be modeled with static dep...

Re: Question on MouseReleasedE

Hi,

how did you get that count method to work ? For me it never changed it's value, no matter how I tried. Maybe you could give a short code snippet. Just for interest, as I mentioned theres another way using the clicks evnent and the snapshot/toggle methods of i.
